Not to state the obvious, but I just wanted to remind everyone to drink your water. I watched a video by our friend Jeff Cavaliere and he says that most people go through their days dehydrated to one extent or another. This can make you feel fatigued. Drinking water also simply clears out your system. He says that you should drink a glass of water as the first thing you do when you get up in the morning, and then, of course, throughout the day. It's hard because this isn't something you think about a lot, except for when you get thirsty, and if you're not particularly thirsty, then it's easy to forget about it. Well, I, Professor Fate, do keep a glass going throughout the day. Virtually every time I walk through the kitchen, I'll grab a bit of water.

Yeah I drink alot of water. I have to drink bottle water because where I live everytime you turn around we get a letter stating some kind of problem with it. I drink a 16 ounce of water with apple cider vinegar in as soon as I get up. That stuff sure wakes you up fast, . By the way, speaking of Jeff, I was watching one of his videos about side laterals. I was going to post it but it slipped my mind. Were you always taught when do side laterals to do pinkies up at the top of the movement? I have to try and find it again, interesting.

I just watched a video by someone who says you should keep your shoulder blades pinched together. Pinkies at the top of the movement has nothing to do with the exercise. It is simply etiquette.

Bruce I use Bragg's also. I do put a tiny bit of honey in it because straight it's nasty. I started doing this year's ago because I would get some crazy cramps in my calves. I haven't had them since I've been drinking it. There's suppose to be other benefits but who knows what's true or not.

What I remember in Jeff's video he said the pinky up thing cause shoulder impingment, I think that's how you spell that. He said everyone is different, some could do it for 20 years before they see a problem. He recommends doing it thumbs up and leaning forward a little. If I find the video I'll post it later. Could you post the one you watched?

Lateral raise - that's just raising your arms out from, and in line with, your sides, right? How hard can this be? It doesn't require instruction in a special skill, like the stunt of straight bar deadlifts does, does it? Just do it in a way that is comfortable. Your muscles and connective tissue don't require any sort of unique, secret contortions to create the tension which will bring growth & strength. When you do actual physical work, do you try to make it as awkward and painful as possible?

I wouldn't have known about pinching your shoulder blades together if I hadn't watched the instructional video. Don't know what that's supposed to do. Personally, I do Hook crossover shoulder raises. With the bands under my feet and legs in a somewhat wide stance, I cross the bands at my waste and then I lift the handles forward, up, out, and back into a good morning stretch.

When you do actual physical work, do you try to make it as awkward and painful as possible? Physical work is different than exercise. You are not always in the perfect position, perfect senario, or biomechanics. I do try to put myself in the best possible situation but it doesn't always work out that way. That's unrealistic for me anyhow, maybe not someone else. Side lateral and exercise wise It's not that complicated but I'd rather listen and learn what's safe. I definitely respect what you say even though I do different stuff. But I like to make sure I'm not doing unnecessary damage when I exercise. So I find that kind of stuff interesting. When I listened to Blue Speedo in the past I actually started to cause an impingment in my right shoulder. So I definitely think a physical therapist would know more than him. Just like posture,if you continually stand in a way that messes with that it's going to get worse.

I begin every workout with the good morning stretch and I do it several times throughout the day. Aside from the stretching benefits, it contributes to good posture.

Yeah I do stuff like that also. I did learn something on this thread from you. When I did your arm routine I didn't know what you meant by crossover lateral raise. Now I do. I was just doing side laterals by putting the cable on a low anchor and doing one arm at a time.
